Alex Dehoyos is a dedicated and passionate sports professional with a strong commitment to enhancing team performance and fostering personal growth. Graduating from Schreiner University with a B.S. in Sport Management, Dehoyos has continued to further his academic career and will be graduating in December of 2023 with his Masters in Business Administration.

Dehoyos’s journey into the world of basketball began in Friendswood High School in Texas, where he exhibited exceptional leadership on the varsity basketball team, earning multiple accolades including First-Team All-County and All-District honors. He then chose to commit a college career at Schreiner University.

While at Schreiner University, Dehoyos continued to excel as the starting point guard and Team Captain for the Division III Collegiate Basketball team of the Schreiner Mountaineers, garnering awards such as All-SCAC First Team and All-SCAC Honorable Mention. His on-court success was marked by a milestone of over 1000 career points and recognition as the Student Athlete of the Year.

Beyond his achievements on the court, Dehoyos’s commitment to community service is truly commendable. He has demonstrated his altruism by engaging in various volunteer initiatives, from leading Hurricane Harvey clean-up efforts to participating in Habitat for Humanity projects and the distribution of toys for KPD Blue Santa. His involvement extended to Schreiner University's campus beautification and assisting the San Antonio Food Bank in supporting local families. Dehoyos’s multifaceted experiences also include working as a personal basketball trainer, showcasing his dedication to nurturing the skills of young athletes.

With an inherent desire to contribute to the growth of a sports organization, Alex Dehoyos is not only an accomplished athlete but also an individual deeply committed to the betterment of both his team and community. His extensive playing experience, leadership qualities, and genuine passion for mentorship make him an exceptional asset as an assistant coach. Through his proven dedication and diverse skill set, Dehoyos aspires to uplift athletes to their fullest potential while fostering a culture of excellence and development within the organization.
