Men's Basketball survived an overtime thriller with Texas Lutheran, 99-90. The Celts would outscore the Bulldogs 13-4 in the extra period to claim a share to their third-straight SCAC title.

St. Thomas and Texas Lutheran would battle back and forth, trading leads until the 11-minute mark when the Bulldogs would gain the slight advantage. However, the Celts would claw back into the contest and even take the lead after scoring on six-straight possessions.

The Celts would open up the second half scoring eleven unanswered points to create separation from the Bulldogs. This double-digit lead wouldn't last long as Texas Lutheran would spark their offense midway through the half to even the score up at 64 apiece.

With time expiring, Texas Lutheran would nail a jumper to send the game into overtime.

Senior point guard Juan Hood and junior forward Andrew Adebo would dominate the overtime period, accounting for all 13 of the Celts' points. Defensively they would hold the Bulldogs scoreless for the first three minutes to secure the "grind-it-out" victory.

St. Thomas advances to 13-2 in SCAC play and now holds a one-game lead over Trinity and Schreiner heading into their final game on Saturday. With a win, the Celts will be crowned out-right regular season champions.

Christian Alaekwe would yet again come up huge for the Celts, scorching the nets with 26 points while shooting 58 percent from the floor. Juan Hood would log his season-high in scoring with 18 points. Hood would dish out a game-high seven assists, bringing his assist-to-turnover ratio to seven. Dominating the paint would be Andrew Adebo, recording his second double-double of the season with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Lastly, Andrew Nguyen would chip in 15 points in 24 minutes of action while shooting 80 percent from behind the arc.
