Celts Lock Up Bulldogs in 65-41 Win

The Celts started their road doubleheader with a win over Texas Lutheran University 65-41. Cameron Gims led all scorers with 15 points shooting 50% from behind the arc.

A relatively low scoring game for UST called for extra attention to detail on the defensive end. This effort held TLU to under 30 points in the first half and only 13 points in the final half of the game. The Celts turned the Bulldogs over 22 times and held them to shoot 21% from the field.

Offensively, the scoring was well-distributed as Gims and Juan Hood both reached double figures. Hood also tallied three steals and dished out five assists. Andrew Adebo and Austin Arnold provided a spark off the bench as well. Adebo filled the stat sheet up with six points, three boards, a pair of assists and two steals. Arnold continued to be a threat from deep as he knocked down two three-pointers.

The Celts will go for the weekend sweep tomorrow as they wrap up the doubleheader with Texas Lutheran.
