Houston, TX- The Celts picked up two wins on their road trip to Lawrence, Kansas, bringing their record to 3-2 on the season.
In their first game, the Celts beat the Ottawa University Braves 75-67. Sam Flores (SR/El Paso, Texas) hit 6 three-pointers and led all scorers with 24 points. Kennard Robinson (JR/Houston, Texas) and Orowo Eleyae (SR/Houston, Texas) also chipped in 17 points apiece. The Celts shot 42% from the field, 36% from three, and 64% from the free throw line. Isaiah Palmer led the Braves in scoring with 15 points. The Braves shot 39% from the floor, 20% from distance, and 72% from the charity stripe.
The Celts defeated Haskell Indian Nations University in the second game of the back-to-back by a score of 89-65. Orowo Eleyae led the Celts in both scoring and rebounding as he recorded his first double-double of the year with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Lennard Robinson (JR/Houston, Texas) dished out a career-high 8 assists, as the Celts recorded 24 assists as a team. The Celts limited Haskell to just 29 second-half points. The Celts shot 52% from the field, 28% from distance, and 62% from the line. Nakia Hendricks had 20 points and 15 rebounds for Haskell, as the Indians shot 34.4% from the floor, 28% from three-point range, and 65% from the line.
The Celts next game will be November 21 against Lyon College. The game will be held at Jerabeck Activity and Athletic Center at 6:00 PM.
