Hot-Shooting Celts Blast Bulldogs, 92-62

Men's Basketball had a dominating performance over the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs Friday night, walking away with a 30-point, 92-62 victory. The scoring for the Celts was well-distributed as every player to enter the game would aid in the offensive effort.

Cameron Gims would lead the way, getting it done on both ends of the floor, scoring 17 points on seven-for-eleven shooting and recording four steals and a block.

The Celts would come out the gates firing, nailing three consecutive triples within the first 2 minutes of play. They would stay course and eventually build their lead to ten with just over 10 minutes remaining in the half. However, the Bulldogs would battle back, cutting their deficit in half. St. Thomas, who shot 50 percent from the floor, would answer this run with one of their own, extending their advantage to 17 in the final five minutes of the frame.

Continuing with the hot-hand in the second half, the Celts would soon balloon this lead to 30 points, behind a 57 percent shooting performance to close out the game

Christian Alaekwe would add 15 points in 24 minutes, while also recording three steals and three boards. Juan Hood would provide a spark off the bench for the Celts, putting up 12 points on 71 percent shooting in just 17 minutes of action.

St. Thomas, who was originally set to host Southwestern on Sunday, February 6th, will now be travelling to Southwestern on Monday, February 7th.
