Men's Basketball Falls to George Fox, 85-76

Men's Basketball would drop the second game of their three-game road trip to George Fox, 85-76.

Calen Anderson would have a career-night, continuing his dominance in the paint. The junior forward would post his first collegiate double-double, tallying 21 points while grabbing 10 boards. Anderson would shoot 66% (10-15) from the field while recording three steals and a block.

After a slow start offensively, the Celts would find themselves down 15 points heading into the break. The hot-shooting Bruins would cash in on 60% of their shots from the field and turn St. Thomas over 10 times to build onto their lead. However, major bench contributions from Andrew Nguyen and Calen Anderson, who pitched in eight points apiece, would allow the Celts to keep pace with George Fox.

Needing a quick start, the Celts would construct a 13-2 run just minutes into the second half to cut their deficit to just three points. Unfortunately, the Bruins would find their stroke and hit timely shots to pull away late in the contest and secure the victory.

Freddie Ricks III would have his bests offensive output of the young season, scoring 19 points while dishing out a game-high five assists. Joshua Sanchez would grab a season-high 15 rebounds and chip in six points in his 32 minutes of play.

The Celts will have a quick turnaround as they face off with the Pacific University Boxers tomorrow at 10:00PM CST.
