Men's Basketball Rises Over Roos 77-63

In an exciting men's basketball matchup, St. Thomas (Tex.) secured a 77-63 victory against Austin, showcasing a strong second-half performance that propelled them to success.

The first half of the game saw a closely contested battle, with both teams locked at 33 points each heading into halftime. Austin's Tristan Dick and Joshua Joe played significant roles in keeping the game tight, while St. Thomas had contributions from multiple players to maintain the balance.

The second half, however, belonged to St. Thomas, as they outscored Austin 44-30. The home team's offensive execution and defensive resilience made the difference in this period. Austin struggled to find consistency in their shooting, with a 36.2% overall field goal percentage and a challenging 17.6% accuracy from beyond the arc. St. Thomas, on the other hand, showcased efficient shooting with a 45.3% overall field goal percentage and a notable 35.3% from three-point range.

St. Thomas' balanced scoring, led by Nick Anderson's 21 points, and strong contributions from multiple players secured the win. The team's defensive efforts, highlighted by Calen Anderson's seven rebounds and Wesley Hooker's all-around performance, played a crucial role in limiting Austin's offensive opportunities.

With this victory, St. Thomas (Tex.) improved their record in SCAC play, demonstrating their prowess in both ends of the court and their ability to close out games effectively.
