Nick Anderson and Calvin Williams' Big Night Powers Celts over Bulldogs

Men's basketball had a huge come-from-behind victory against Texas Lutheran University this past Friday night. After trailing the majority of the game, the Celts second-half rally gave them the 77-70 victory.

In the first half, the Bulldogs seemingly made every other shot as they shot 50% from the floor. They also added nine three-pointers as the Celts struggled to defend from beyond the arc. On the flip side, St. Thomas shot 40% and made just 1 three-pointer for a 29-point effort. When the clock hit zero, the Celts found themselves trailing 38-29 at the end of the first half.

In the second half, Texas Lutheran committed 12 costly turnovers as St. Thomas started to claw their way back into the game. The Celts took advantage and added 48 points in the half powered by Nick Anderson and Calvin Williams IV. 12 TLU fouls gave opportunities at the line for UST and Nick Anderson shined going 10-10 in this period and shooting 80%. Then his teammate Calvin Williams IV, scored 16 points this half. Once St. Thomas took the lead, they never looked back and won 77-70, for their 11th straight SCAC victory.

Both Nick Anderson and Calvin Williams IV flirted with a double-double this game. Anderson scored 27 points and went a perfect 11-11 from the line to go along with nine rebounds. Calvin Williams had 25 points and stole six balls from TLU.
