Men's Basketball secured their first conference win of the season after a 25-point victory over Colorado College. Assistant Coach Brian Baehl, who was standing in for Head Coach Anthony Medina, would record his first-career win.

The Celts would take the lead early in the first half and never surrender it for the remainder of the contest. However, for the first ten minutes of the game, Colorado College would remain within the striking distance, trading buckets with St. Thomas. It wasn't until eight consecutive Christian Alaekwe points that the Celts would create some breathing room. They would then widen this lead in the closing minutes of the half, constructing a 14-3 run.

Alaekwe would connect on four three-pointers for the half, totaling for 17 points, putting the Celts up big heading into the break. Andrew Nguyen would provide a spark off the bench, tallying eight points in just ten minutes of action.

St. Thomas would shoot 46 percent from the floor and 50 percent from behind the arc in the second half. They would limit Colorado College to just 27 points in the frame while turning them over 10 times. The Celts would extend their lead to as much as 27 in the half, cruising to a comfortable 75-50 decision.

For the second straight game, every Celt to enter to contest would contribute on the offensive end. Leading the way with 19 points would be Christian Alaekwe. He would also record a season-high five steals to go with his pair of blocks. Andrew Nguyen would shoot 50 percent from the field, pouring in 11 points off the bench. Freddie Ricks III would reach the double-digit scoring mark for the seventh time this season, chipping in 10 points to go with his four rebounds and three assists.

The Celts will continue with their road trip next weekend when they travel to Seguin, Texas to face off with Texas Lutheran.
