Men's Basketball Defeats Arlington Baptist 97-61 on Homecoming

Men's Basketball defeated Arlington Baptist with an outstanding 97-61 victory on homecoming. This marked the Celt's first win of the season.

St. Thomas found themselves on the board first and jumped out to a swift 12-0 lead. However, that was not enough to put away the Patriots as they started chipping in baskets to cut the deficit. When all was said and done, the Celts found themselves just up by one as Arlington Baptist cut the lead 23-22. After key timeout by Head Coach Anthony Medina left in the first half, St. Thomas turned it on offensively and defensively as they concluded with a 26-4 run to take a 49-26 halftime lead.

In the second half, the St. Thomas offense continued to click as the Celts showcased their deep bench. Of the 48 Celt points, 38 were off the bench, and 8 came from CK Egbo. When the dust settled, the score read 97-61 in favor of St. Thomas.

Offensively, the Celts had four players in double figures as Calen Anderson had 10, Nick Anderson had 17, Luke Ramirez had 11, and Calvin Williams had 10. Calen also had the team high seven rebounds, and Luke Ramirez had five steals.
