WHITNEY, Texas – Day two of the SCAC Women's Golf Championship saw the University of St. Thomas fall to fifth place in the team standings after posting a second-round score of +61, bringing their two-day total to +130. Despite the drop in team placement, several Celts made moves on the individual leaderboard.
Emma Cook continues to lead the way for St. Thomas. She enters the final round tied for 10th place overall at +28, following a second-round +16. After a strong opening round, Cook will look to bounce back and finish on a high note.
A big highlight for the Celts came from Leah Torres, who had the best round of the day among UST golfers. She shaved 19 strokes off her opening score to post a +7 in Round 2, vaulting up to 15th place.
Cameron Frazier remains in the mix as well, sitting tied for 16th after shooting +19 in Round 2 to bring her total to +35. Right alongside her is Regina Garcia Perez, who finished the day at +39 and is currently tied for 22nd.
Rounding out the Celt lineup, Xiadani Islas improved her second-round performance with a +19, moving into a tie for 25th.
The Celts will return to the course for the final round tomorrow, aiming to climb back into the top three and close out the 2024 SCAC Championship – and their season – with a strong finish.
