Two Golfers in Top Ten After Day One at Space City Classic

Women's Golf opened up their spring season at the Space City Classic this Monday morning. At the conclusion of the opening round, the Celts placed two golfers in the top ten, tied with SCAC rival Trinity University. 

Trinity Le finished tied for second place and led all Celts firing an opening round of 76 (+5) at Gus Wortham. Le shot nine pars and two birdies to lead all SCAC golfers in the opening round of action. Not far behind tied for fifth was Emma Luna who shot 77 (+6) on the day. Luna shot eight pars and two birdies to keep herself in the race.

Tied for 20th place was Juliana Hudman. Hudman had seven pars and a birdie on hole 17 to keep herself in the race. Regina Perez came in at 32nd after firing an opening round of six double bogeys, six bogeys, and four pars. Rounding out the team scoring for the Celts was Myra Truong, who helped keep the Celts competitive with three pars. 

Eden Hall also competed as an independent and her day was highlighted by five pars to lock in 38th place. 

When the dust settled, St. Thomas finished tied for fourth place at +41, 15 strokes behind first place.
