Celts Secure First Place

ROUND ROCK, Texas – The University of St. Thomas Women's Golf team put together a strong second round to claim first place at the Linda Lowery Invitational. The Celts finished with a +53 overall score, improving on their opening round with a +24 in the final round. They outpaced East Texas Baptist (+74) and Dallas (+82) to take the tournament title.

Leading the way for St. Thomas, Leah Torres delivered a steady performance, finishing in second place individually with a +10 overall score (+3 in Round 1, +7 in Round 2). Cameron Frazier climbed the leaderboard, securing a third-place finish at +14, improving by four strokes in her second round (+9 in Round 1, +5 in Round 2).

Emma Koch also made strides, moving up five spots to finish sixth at +18 (+10 in Round 1, +8 in Round 2), while Regina Garcia Perez, competing as an individual, placed seventh at +19 (+7 in Round 1, +12 in Round 2). Emma Cook finished tied for eighth at +21, rounding out the top-10 performances for the Celts.

Additionally, Xiadani Islas had a notable second round, cutting 16 strokes off her opening round score to finish in 12th place at +24 (+20 in Round 1, +4 in Round 2).

Up Next

With the tournament win secured, St. Thomas will now set its sights on the SCAC Championship, taking place April 13-15 in Whitney, Texas.
