Women's Golf Takes Third at Alamo Classic

Women's Golf takes third place at the Alamo Classic. With an overall team score of 640, St. Thomas finished ahead of SCAC rivals: Texas Lutheran, Dallas, and Schreiner. 

Leading the Celts was sophomore Emma Luna with a 4th place finish. She fired a 78 (+7) in round one followed by a 74 (+3). Luna would finish round two with 15 pars and 3 bogeys. Not far behind her were Trinity Le, 80, 81 (+19) and Juliana Hudman, 77, 84 (+19) who both finished tied for 14th. Le struggled with two double bogeys in round two, but stayed focused. Her birdie on hole 11 was one of two birdies for the Celts in round two. Hudman had a strong round one. She would struggle in round two, but her score still would count for the Celts. 

Eden Hall also improved her score in round two carding an 82 (+11) to keep St. Thomas in the race. The second of two birdies for the Celts came from Eden on hole 13. Hall secured a 23rd-place finish as she shot eight bogeys. In her first tournament as a Celt, freshman Regina Perez struggled in round two with five double bogeys to fire a 89 (+18) in the final round. However, with four pars in the round the freshman showed promise for future competition.

Women's golf hits the links again on October 24th and 25th for the Crusader Invitational.
