Women's Golf Finishes 2nd At Schreiner Spring Shootout

Three Celts finished within the top 10 of the standings as St. Thomas got their second top-three finish of the season. 

Kerrville, Texas — The University of St. Thomas women's golf team finished the Schreiner Spring Shootout in 2nd Place firing a combined team score of 317. In total with their Day 1 Score, it was 631, and just one stroke shy of the eventual tournament champion Cal Lutheran.

Junior Emma Luna matched her day one score of 77 in the final round. Luna was consistent on the course, firing 13 pars on the day to lock in 2nd place.

Freshman Emma Cook was not far behind at 6th place lowering her score to a 78. Cook fired a team-high 4 birdies to keep herself and the team near the top. 

St. Thomas's 317 stroke day was their second-best performance of the year. The Celts finished second place at the event, and posted their second consecutive top three finish of the year.

The Lineup

Junior Emma Luna matched her day one score of 77 in the final round. Luna was consistent on the course, firing 13 pars on the day to lock in 2nd place.

Freshman Emma Cook was not far behind at 6th place lowering her score to a 78. Cook fired a team-high 4 birdies to keep herself and the team near the top. 

Senior Trinity Le finished 8th overall, jumping 2 spots in the top 10. Le had 8 pars and 2 birdies on her 78 scorecard and lowered her score by 3 strokes.

Freshman Emma Koch came in at 11th place, just one stroke shy of cracking the top 10. Koch carded an 84, and had 9 pars. 

Sophomore Regina Perez rounded out the Celts competing at the event, finishing tied for 32nd. Perez fired a 91 to round out her tournament.
