Celts Tied for Fifth

KERRVILLE, Texas – The University of St. Thomas Women's Golf team wrapped up the first round of the Schreiner Invitational tied for fifth place with a team score of +45. The Celts share the position with Southwestern (TX) as they prepare for the final round.

Leah Torres led the way for UST with an impressive round, finishing at +2 and securing second place individually, just one stroke behind the tournament leader. Emma Cook followed with a steady performance, tying for 21st at +10.

Cameron Frazier finished the round at +14, placing her in a tie for 33rd. Xiadani Islas, competing as an individual, posted a +18 to sit in 43rd place. Emma Koch finished just one stroke behind her teammate at +19, tying for 48th. Regina Garcia Perez rounded out the lineup, finishing the first round at +21, tying for 52nd.

As a team, UST is chasing Odessa (TX), which leads the tournament at +15. Cal Lutheran (+31) and Hardin-Simmons (+33) follow in second and third place, respectively.

The Celts will look to improve their position in the final round as they continue to compete against a strong field.
