Women's Golf Competes at Texas Intercollegiate

Women's Golf Competes at Texas Intercollegiate

Women's Golf opened up their 2021-22 campaign in Fort Worth, Texas at the Texas Intercollegiate. The Celts finished in eighth place in a field of 10 teams. Senior Myra Truong led the way finishing 30th overall while shooting 36 over for the tournament.

A slow start for St. Thomas would place them in eighth after day one. Heading into day two, the Celts looked to improve their play and cover some ground on Texas Wesleyan University. Although the Celts cleaned up their card, they were still unable to catch the Rams.

Truong would post her best performance in the third and final round, carding an 80 (+8). Finishing only three places behind her, Alyssa Goins would shoot 38 over. Like Truong, Goins would play her best in the third round, shooting an 83. Eden Hall would finish 35th overall after constantly improving her score throughout the tournament. Hall would shoot an 81 (+9) in the third round of the Texas Intercollegiate. Courtney Krause and Xaviera Urrabazo would clean up their score as well in efforts to hold off Sterling College, who finished 55 strokes behind the Celts.

Women's Golf will hit the links again on September 27th and 28th when they compete in the Schreiner Women's Fall Invite in Kerrville, Texas.
