Women's Golf in 3rd After Day Two at SCAC Championships

Women's Golf Finished third at the end of Day Two at the SCAC Championships. Led by two Celts in the top ten, the team looks to take that momentum into the final round.

After all scores were tallied, St. Thomas (+85) is 8 strokes behind second-place Southwestern (+77) heading onto the final round of action. 

The Lineup:

Junior Emma Luna finished sixth after lowering her score by six strokes to 76 (+4) in round two. Luna had a stellar day with 11 pars and 2 birdies to keep her score low

Not far behind was Senior Trinity Le in 8th. Le was able to lower her score by one stroke to a 81 (+9) in round two. Her score included 8 pars and a key birdie on hole 6 to stay in the top ten.

Freshman Emma Koch finished day two in 11th place after carding an 84 (+12). Koch had 8 pars and a birdie, yet suffered a triple bogey on hole 14 to finish just outside the top ten.

Also tied with Koch was Sophomore Regina Perez. Perez's 11th place finish included 9 pars and 7 bogeys to card an 83 (+11).

Lastly, Freshman Emma Cook finished 18th after firing an 88 (+16) in the second round. Cook will look to bounce back after carding just 5 pars and a birdie to close round two.

Notable Stats:

  • St. Thomas is second in the tournament in total birdies with 9
  • Trinity Le and Emma Luna are first overall on par 3 holes with a E scoring average
