Women's Golf Tee's Off for a Action Packed Spring 2023

Women's Golf Tee's Off for a Action Packed Spring 2023

After Women's Golf placed four Celts inside the top ten at last year's SCAC Tournament, St. Thomas looks to improve from their third place finish from 2022. With a competitive fall behind them the Celts find themselves ready to continue their success into the spring.

Played Through A Successful Fall

Women's golf battled all fall as they posted two top three finishes and a top four finish in their most recent tournament. At the Alamo City Classic the trio of Emma Luna, Trinity Le, and Juliana Hudman made headlines by all making the top 15.  Then at the Crusader Invitational Emma Luna and Trinity Le both tied for second place to keep momentum through the fall.

In the spring, women's golf first tees off at the Space City Classic in Houston at the Gus Wortham golf course on Feburary 27th and 28th.  Then they head to the Schriner Spring Invitational and Linda Lowery Invitational before the SCAC Tournament.

Young Core Drives Results

So far, Women's golf has seen success from sophomores Emma Luna and Trinity Le to power them into this season. Luna last year achieved two SCAC Golfer of the Week honors for her outstanding play. She then backed up this success with a ninth place finish at the 2022 SCAC tournament. Trinity Le finished fourth at last years SCAC tournament and continued her stellar play on the links this fall. Le fired a tournament high 12 pars at the Crusader Invitational and earned her first SCAC Golfer of the Week honor this fall.

Head Coach Billy Tuten returns for his seventh season leading UST Celt Golf. Tuten is the coach responsible for guiding the team into NCAA Division III as St. Thomas will now face the national scene after taking on the SCAC.
