Women's Basketball Sails Past Southwestern 72-49

In a decisive victory on February 9, 2024, the St. Thomas (Tex.) women's basketball team faced off against Southwestern (Tex.), triumphing with a final score of 72-49.

St. Thomas demonstrated their dominance early in the game, establishing a solid lead in the first quarter with a score of 19-12. The team showcased their offensive prowess with efficient shooting and strong ball movement. Hayden Morin and Audrey Hernandez led the charge, contributing 11 and 10 points respectively, while Macie Whitfield added 10 points of her own.

Southwestern struggled to keep pace with St. Thomas throughout the game, facing difficulty in converting their scoring opportunities. Despite efforts from players like Téa Rodriguez, who scored 12 points off the bench, Southwestern couldn't close the gap.

St. Thomas maintained their momentum in the second half, extending their lead with consistent scoring and tenacious defense. Nia McGee and Kareena Aragon provided valuable contributions off the bench, combining for 15 points and adding depth to St. Thomas' offensive arsenal.
