Four Celts in Double Figures as St. Thomas Falls to Colorado College

St. Thomas continued SCAC play against Colorado College this Sunday afternoon. Despite four Celts in double figures, the Tigers secured victory 81-61. 

In the first quarter, the Celts had a strong showing posting 20 points against the Tiger's 16. Powered by four three-pointers and a six-point run, the Celts were able to hold the lead for just about the whole quarter. In the second quarter, the Tigers started hot going on an 11-5 scoring run to take a 27-25 lead midway through. Nia McGree answered with back-to-back shots as the Celts regained the lead 30-27. From there, St. Thomas never looked back as they took a 38-35 lead into the half. 

To open up the second half, both teams came out firing and tied the game at 50 points apiece. Breaking the draw was Ce'Briaya Bell to give St. Thomas the two-point lead. However, Colorado College responded and finished the third with a 62-55 lead. As the fourth quarter ensued, Colorado College continued to add to their lead and as time expired, they secured victory 81-68.

Four Celts were in double figures, Nia McGee and Alexya Castillo each had 14, Micayla Hamilton dropped 11, and Ce'Briaya Bell scored 13. Hamilton and McGee also dished out a team-high three assists each. Defensively, McGee had nine rebounds and Ravyn Ellis stole two balls.
