Women's Basketball Falls to Pirates 54-49

In a closely contested women's basketball matchup on January 5, 2024, Southwestern (Tex.) managed to secure a 54-49 victory over St. Thomas (Tex.). For St. Thomas, Sydnee Smith stood out with an impressive shooting display, hitting four three-pointers on her way to 12 points. Despite the team's efforts, St. Thomas fell short in the closing moments.

The game showcased competitive basketball, with both teams demonstrating resilience and determination. Ultimately, Southwestern's ability to capitalize on key opportunities secured their 54-49 victory over St. Thomas. Both teams will use this game as a learning experience as they continue their respective seasons in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC).
