Celts Fall to Centenary, 61-53

Women's Basketball would drop a hard-fought contest with the Centenary College Ladies, 61-53.

St. Thomas would find themselves down early after a hot start from Centenary. The Celts would close the gap as the period continued, leaving the deficit at two after ten minutes of play. They would knot things up at 12 apiece early in the second quarter, but the Ladies would answer with a run of their own. Scoring ten unanswered points in a three-minute span, the Celts were now placed in a seven-point hole heading into the break.

In a highly competitive third frame, the Celts would put up 20 points, chipping away at their halftime deficit. A 9-0 run with under two minutes of action remaining would put St. Thomas in a one-possession game heading down the home stretch. After trading the lead back-and-forth for the entire fourth quarter, the Ladies would edge the Celts, 61-53.

Micayla Hamilton would lead the Celts offense with 18 points on six-for-eleven shooting. Olivia Anga would tally 12 points to go along with her 13 rebounds, this is Anga's fourth double-double of the season.

The Celts will be back in action on Tuesday, February 15th at Texas Lutheran.
