Celts Fall to Bulldogs, 58-43

Women's Basketball dropped a conference battle with Texas Lutheran, 58-43. Despite outscoring the Bulldogs in the fourth quarter, the Celts would fall short of upsetting the second-ranked team in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.

The contest would open up with both units trading blows for the entirety of the first quarter. Texas Lutheran would close the period with an 8-0 run to gain the slight advantage over the Celts.

Both the Celts and the Bulldogs would struggle offensively in the second frame, collectively shooting under 25 percent. Texas Lutheran would inch ahead slowly throughout the quarter, facing the Celts with a 12-point halftime deficit.

In the second half, St. Thomas would construct small runs in order to stay within striking distance. However, Texas Lutheran would nail timely three-pointers to snap all UST momentum.

Olivia Anga would lead the Celts, playing a complete game with 16 points and seven rebounds. Chipping in 10 points would be junior guard, Micayla Hamilton. Hamilton would also record a team-high two blocks and two assists.

St. Thomas, who was originally set to host Southwestern on Sunday, February 6th, will now be travelling to Southwestern on Monday, February 7th
