Four Celts in Double Figures lead St. Thomas over Texas Lutheran

Women's basketball picked up their third SCAC victory this past Friday night against Texas Lutheran University. Four Celts were in double figures as they picked up a big conference victory 61-54.

St. Thomas took control of the game in the first half from the opening tip. Holding the lead for nearly 19 minutes of action, the Celts were firing on offense and defense. At the end of the first quarter, St. Thomas didn't let Texas Lutheran get past eight against their 14. Then in the second quarter, a big eight-point period from Ravyn Ellis gave St. Thomas the 26-22 lead at halftime. 

In the third, quarter, St. Thomas continued to fire on all cylinders as Haydin Morin started to take control of the game. Morin had two assists, a steal, and made three-three pointers to add to 17 point Celt effort this period. Finally in the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs outscored the Celts 22-18, but any chance at a comeback was too late as the clock hit zero and St. Thomas won 61-54. 

Hayden Morin led the Celts with 18 points and went 4-10 from beyond the arc. Ce'briaya Bell was right behind her with 13, with a perfect 5-5 from the line. Nia McGee had 12 points and also got it done on the defensive end with four steals. Finally, Ravyn Ellis came off the bench and notched ten points with four steals as well.
