Women's Basketball Falls in Season Opener

Women's Basketball Falls in Season Opener

Women's Basketball fell in their season-opener with Dallas Christian after a 74-66 decision leaned towards the Crusaders.

After shooting 50% from the field in the first quarter, the Crusaders would jump out to an 18-10 lead after 10 minutes of play. However, the Celts would battle back behind Micayla Hamilton's seven second quarter points to cut their deficit to three heading into the break.

In a high-scoring second half, St. Thomas and Dallas Christian would trade blows for the entire 20 minutes. Despite turning the Crusaders over 15 times, the Celts were unable to complete the comeback and would drop their first contest of the year.

Micayla Hamilton would lead all scorers with 19 points while shooting 57% from the floor. The junior guard would also tally three steals to go along with her one block. Hayden Morin would fill up the stat with a complete performance of nine points, six steals, three assists and three boards.

Women's Basketball will hit the court next Friday as they host Arlington Baptist at 4:00PM.
