HOUSTON, TX- Women's Basketball fell to 3-8 (1-4 SCAC) after dropping a hard-fought contest to the Schreiner University Mountaineers, 68-62.

Despite leading at half, the Mountaineers would use a hot shooting performance in the third quarter to pull away and stun the Celts. Schreiner would control the pace of play, stretching their lead to as large as 15 in the second half. St. Thomas would stay within striking distance late into the game, but an 8-0 Mountaineer run with four minutes left to play would crush the Celts' momentum  

Micayla Hamilton and Olivia Anga would both chip in a team-high 16 points. Hamilton would stuff the stat sheet with six boards, five assists and three steals.

The Celts continue conference play at home on Tuesday January 18th at 4pm when they take on Austin College.
