
HOUSTON, TX- Leah Torres, a first-year golfer from Kingwood, Texas, has been named SCAC Women's Golfer of the Week after an impressive performance at the Schreiner Spring Shootout. Torres opened the tournament with a 2-over-par 74, helping the Celts secure a fifth-place tie. The event was shortened to 18 holes after heavy winds made the course unplayable on Tuesday.
Head Coach Billy Tuten shared his excitement for Torres, emphasizing her strong performance and the well-earned recognition. In addition to receiving conference honors, she also secured an individual second-place finish, showcasing her potential as a key contributor for the Celts.
