2025 Spring Golf Season Underway

2025 Spring Golf Season Underway

HOUSTON, TX-St. Thomas Golf programs are set to tee off an exciting spring season as they aim to build on their strong showings from their fall season. With both the men's and women's teams featuring key returners and competitive schedules, the Celts are poised for success.

Men's Golf
UST men will open the 2025 season on February 17-18 at the San Antonio Shootout before hosting the Space City Golf Classic in Houston on February 24-25. March brings the Celts to California for the CLU Kingsmen & Regals Invite on March 10-11 and back to Texas for the Linda Lowery Invitational in Round Rock on March 24-25. The season culminates with the SCAC Championship in Whitney, Texas, on April 13-15.

Women's Golf
The ladies will kick off their 2025 campaign at the Space City Golf Classic on February 24-25. They'll then head to Kerrville for the Schreiner U. Spring Invite on March 3-4, followed by the Linda Lowery Invitational on March 24-25. Like the men, their season will wrap up at the SCAC Championship in Whitney on April 13-15.

Returners and New Additions
Both teams bring back standout performers who earned All-SCAC honors at last year's championship. For the men, Cameron Curtis returned after finishing 9th at the 2024 tournament. Curtis scored 230 (+14) across three rounds, including a team-leading 30 pars and an eagle. On the women's side, Emma Luna is back after earning All-SCAC accolades. Luna was impressed with an 8th-place finish at the 2024 SCAC Championship, highlighted by leading the field in par-three scoring (3.08) and tallying 31 pars. Her consistent play will be a cornerstone for the team this season. This semester, the Celts have bolstered their roster with two transfers and a group of newcomers who made an immediate impact during the 2024 fall season. These fresh faces have added depth and energy to the team, complementing the experience of key returners. The blend of seasoned talent and rising stars promises an exciting dynamic as the Celts prepare to tackle their spring schedule, which features challenging tournaments such as the Space City Golf Classic and the SCAC Championship.

Head Coach Tuten added, "I am very excited to get our Spring season underway. Both the men's and women's teams are very talented and have a lot of experience. My team members are ready to put in the hard work, which will lead to a lot of success."
