Mike Williams

A native of the Woodlands, Texas, Coach Williams played baseball at Galveston Community College and went 10-1 as a starting pitcher for the Whitecaps. He was also named to the All-Conference Team. With his success at the collegiate level, Coach Williams was selected in the 11th round of the 1998 Major League Baseball Draft by the Chicago White Sox. It is there he played five seasons with numerous awards in the organization. He was named the Rolaids Reliever of the Year, Top Prospect in the Appalachian League, and won two World Series titles. 

After his professional baseball playing career, Coach Williams ventured into select baseball and coaching. He started at the Texas Nationals as the Director of Baseball Ops. From there, Coach Williams went on to coach High School Baseball and has been at the John Cooper School in the Woodlands for 12 years. During his time at John Cooper, he served as the varsity pitching coach for seven years before being promoted to Head Coach in 2019. During his tenure, he has guided 15 student-athletes into collegiate baseball. It is these experiences that have prepared Coach Williams to now start coaching at the collegiate level for the Celts.
