Celts Fall in 13-12 Shootout Vs Hendrix

In a thrilling baseball showdown on March 2, 2024, between St. Thomas (Tex.) and Hendrix, it was Hendrix who emerged victorious with a narrow 13-12 win.

The game started with both teams displaying their offensive firepower. St. Thomas (Tex.) took an early lead in the first inning when Dillon McKee doubled to left-center, bringing home Mason Seay.

However, Hendrix quickly responded in the bottom of the first inning, with Ian Guthrie delivering a three-RBI double to left-center, giving Hendrix a 3-1 advantage.

St. Thomas (Tex.) narrowed the gap in the second inning with Alex Trinh's RBI double and Armando Rocha's RBI single, making it a 4-3 game.

The teams continued to exchange blows, with Hendrix maintaining a slim lead until the fifth inning when Austin Rabago's three-RBI double extended Hendrix's lead to 8-5.

St. Thomas (Tex.) fought back in the seventh inning, scoring one run to make it 8-6, but Hendrix added two more runs in the bottom of the inning to stretch their lead to 10-6.

The eighth inning witnessed a dramatic comeback by St. Thomas (Tex.), as they exploded for six runs to take a 12-10 lead. Mason Seay's two-RBI single highlighted the inning.

However, Hendrix responded fiercely in the bottom of the eighth inning, capitalizing on errors and timely hitting to score three runs and regain the lead at 13-12. Shaun Pope's RBI single proved to be the game-winning hit.

Despite St. Thomas (Tex.)'s efforts in the ninth inning, they couldn't overturn the deficit, and Hendrix held on for the thrilling 13-12 victory.

Both teams showcased their offensive prowess, combining for 25 runs and 21 hits in a high-scoring affair. St. Thomas will look to bounce back in the final game of the three game series tomorrow.
