Baseball drop both games in the opening day of their four-game series with Hendrix. The undefeated Warriors would defeat the Celts 7-1 and 5-0.
Game One: UST-1 Hendrix-7
St. Thomas would fall behind early after a two-run inning from Hendrix in the second frame. The Celts would cut this deficit in half the very next inning with a Cameron McClure RBI single to center field.
For the next three innings, both teams would remain scoreless as the pitchers would control the game. It wasn't until a four run outburst from the Warriors late in the game that St. Thomas would see the contest slip away from them.
Game Two: UST-0 Hendrix-5
The Celts were blanked in the final game, only recording three hits for the contest. They would find themselves down early as the Warriors would plate a run in the bottom of the first. Just two frames later, they would double their scoring output and claim a 3-0 advantage on the Celts.
St. Thomas would struggle to get things going, stranding five runners through the seven-inning battle. Looking to spark a late-comeback, the Celts would be halted by Hendrix' insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth.
