Celts Edged by Bulldogs.

Game One: UST-0  TLU-10

It was a rough outing for the Celts in game two of their three-game series with the TLU Bulldogs. The Celts could not get the bats going and would drop the contest 10-0.

The Bulldogs got off to a hot start scoring five runs in the first three innings. Although the 5-0 deficit seemed manageable, the Celts could not get their offense started. After a five-run inning in the sixth doubled up TLU's run total, UST was faced with the possibility of the game ending due to run-rule if their bats wouldn't wake up. A three up, three down seventh inning would result in the contest being called.

The lone bright spot for St. Thomas in this game was Noah Martinez, who went 2-2 on the day. John Sebok and Leo Galvan also recorded hits but the Celts could not capitalize on any of them.

Game Two: UST- 4  TLU-7

The Celts would fall behind early in the final game of the series, giving up three runs in the bottom of the second. However, Leo Galvan would answer with a 2RBI double to bring in John Sebok and Jason Brown as the Celts cut their deficit to one.

The Celts pitching staff would settle in and deliver four scoreless innings, until a TLU offensive explosion in the seventh inning drove in four more runs.

With UST on their last three outs, Galvan would again leave his mark on this game, launching a two-run home run to left field. The Celts would have the game-tying run at the plate with two outs, unfortunately the bulldogs were able to escape this jam and claim the 7-4 victory.

Leo Galvan would go two-for-four, while recording all four of the Celts RBIs. John Sebok also went two-for-four on the day, while plating two runs.

The Celts will be on the road again next week when they travel to Sherman to take on Austin College Kangaroos.
