Baseball Drops Game 2 to Southwestern

In a baseball showdown between Southwestern (Tex.) and St. Thomas (Tex.) on March 23, 2024, Southwestern dominated with a resounding 13-2 victory.

St. Thomas got off to a strong start in the first inning, taking a 2-0 lead with Mason Seay's two-RBI single to center field, bringing home Alex Trinh and Kyle Bearden.

However, Southwestern quickly responded in the second inning, tying the game at 2-2. Owen Stevenson's single to left field drove in Maxwell Mims, and a muffed throw by the shortstop allowed Tres Organ to score.

Southwestern seized control of the game in the fourth inning, with Jacob Tanner's grand slam extending their lead to 6-2.

Southwestern continued to pile on the runs, adding one in the sixth inning with Maxwell Mims' RBI single to center field, making it 7-2.

In the ninth inning, Southwestern exploded for five more runs, pulling away decisively. Alexander Cannata's double to left field drove in Mims, Ben Feuer's single to center field brought home two more runs, and James Vaquero drew a walk with the bases loaded. Tanner's sacrifice fly to center field scored another run, bringing the final score to 13-2.
