Baseball Drops Game 3 to Trinity

Baseball Drops Game 3 to Trinity

St. Thomas took an early lead in the third inning when Kyle Bearden singled, and Jarod Smith capitalized on a throwing error by the second baseman to score, giving them a 1-0 advantage.

However, Trinity responded swiftly in the bottom of the third. Jack Peterson's steal set up the tying run, and a sacrifice fly from Alex Monson brought in Peterson, knotting the score at 1-1. Trinity capitalized on a throwing error by the left fielder, allowing Kaleb Woodward to score and take a 2-1 lead.

In the fifth inning, Trinity extended their lead when Nicholas Lazzara doubled down the right-field line, bringing in Peterson and making it 3-1.

Trinity added an insurance run in the seventh inning when Peterson scored on a wild pitch, securing a 4-1 victory.

Despite St. Thomas' efforts, they couldn't overcome Trinity's strong pitching and timely hitting.
