Sheikh drew attention in his previous role as a high-performing UST Sports intern since the fall of 2021. Now, he will oversee the Sports Information office that serves all 19 of the Celt intercollegiate programs. At just 21, Sheikh is one of the youngest in NCAA history to earn the position. 

Sean is from Cypress, Texas, and is a 2021 graduate of the University of Houston. On top of graduating with a degree in sports management, Sean also played collegiate club lacrosse for the Cougars. During his tenure, he served as team president, captain, social media manager and lacrosse representative on the Sports Club Council. On the field, he achieved All-Conference Honors and helped lead the Coogs to their conference championship game for just the second time in team history. Furthermore, he worked at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center, specializing in Intramurals and Club Sports. Then in 2023, he represented Team Philippines at the World Lacrosse Festival in San Diego, California. At this globally sanctioned, once every four years event, Sheikh teamed up with 23 other Filipino lacrosse players to play against teams such as Ireland, British Virgin Islands etc. 

"We are all very happy Sean will be officially joining our UST Athletic family," said Athletic Director Todd Smith . "He has earned this position through hard work, passion and a positive attitude. Our coaches and student-athletes love working with Sean and benefit from his infectious upbeat approach to work. I am not sure we would have made it through the spring season without his dedication to Celt Athletics."  

In his final semester of undergrad, Sean came to the UST as an intern under former Assistant Director of Media Relations Cory McKendree and Graduate Assistant Mila Aquino. Through this experience he showcased his skills, sharing information on all of our teams throughout the 2021-2022 athletic year.
