Laurisa Rieke

Laurisa Rieke is an outreach athletic trainer with the University of St. Thomas, and primarily works with Baseball, Cross Country, and Tennis at the university. In her role she is responsible for the evaluation of injuries, overseeing treatment and rehabilitation, coordination of physician care and contributing to the prevention and education of our student athlete population. She also serves as a clinical preceptor for the University of Houston Master's of Athletic Training Program.

Rieke comes from Huntington, Indiana. She graduated with her Bachelor's of Science in Athletic Training from Manchester University in 2016. Following graduation, Rieke accepted a graduate assistant position as an athletic trainer at Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, MI. She primarily worked with cross country and track and field for 2 years. While working as a graduate assistant, she also served as a teaching assistant and clinical education coordinator assistant for the athletic training program at GVSU. In 2016, she graduated with her Masters in Higher Education from GVSU.

Following graduate school, Rieke landed a job with Memorial Hermann as an outreach athletic trainer. From 2018-2020, she was outreached to Cypress Woods High School, Goodson Middle School, and Spillane Middle School. While employed with Memorial Hermann, she had opportunities to work as an athletic trainer with the Sugar Land Skeeters, Houston's XFL Roughnecks, BMX National Championships, and IRONMAN Triathlons.

Rieke is a national certified athletic trainer and a licensed athletic trainer in the state of Texas. French is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and the Southwest Athletic Trainers’ Association.
