Celt Men's Golf Finish Day 1 of UMHB Invitational

The St. Thomas Celt Men's Golf team had a solid performance on Day 1 of the UMHB Invitational, finishing with a team score of +18 (298), good for tenth place. Here's a recap of the individual and team achievements:

Individual Performances:

  • Patrick Smetek (T52, +7): Patrick had an impressive eagle on hole 12 and managed to secure 11 pars during his round.

  • Antonio Ramirez (T37, +5): Antonio recorded a birdie on hole 18 and achieved 12 pars during his round.

  • Marshall Hatcher (T37, +5): Marshall also had a birdie, which came on hole 15, and secured 11 pars.

  • Cameron Curtis (T20, +2): Cameron stood out with a team-high 2 birdies on holes 14 and 18, in addition to 12 pars.

  • Zach Allen (T44, +6): Zach had a steady round with 12 pars.

  • Lawson Fiscus (T57, +8): Lawson recorded a birdie on hole 10 and secured 9 pars.

Team Statistics:

As a team, St. Thomas Celt Men's Golf had some standout performances

  • The team collectively recorded 68 pars, second overall in the tournament, demonstrating their consistent and solid play throughout the day.

Furthermore, it's worth noting that Patrick Smetek contributed to one of only four eagles recorded in the entire tournament, showcasing his exceptional skills on the course.

Overall, the St. Thomas Celt Men's Golf team had a promising start to the UMHB Invitational, and their strong individual and team performances on Day 1 set them up for a competitive position in the tournament.
