Men's golf opened up the Lidlifter Classic in Kingwood, Texas this Monday morning. At the conclusion of the opening round, the Celts sit at eighth place in a tight contest, just nine strokes out from third.

Cade Kiser led all Celts firing an opening round score of 75 (+3). He finished tied for 12th place, after logging 15 pars and one birdie to keep himself in contention. Cameron Curtis finished 29th with a 79 (+7) as he had 11 pars and four bogeys in the opening round of action.

Henry Phavorachit carded an 81 (+9) in his opening round of play with eight pars and two birdies to lock in a 40th place finish. Jonathan Miller was not far behind Phavorachit with a 43rd place round one. Miller had a rough start recording four bogeys in the first nine holes, but rebounded with two birdies and five pars in the back half of the course. Patrick Smetek was also tied with Miller at 43rd. Smetek like Miller logged an 82 (+10) with a almost identical score card also with two birdies.
