Men's Golf Takes Home Second Place at Crusader Invitational

Men's Golf logged their best finish of the season at the Crusader Invitational in Thackerville, Oklahoma. The Celts would finish second in a field of thirteen as Jonathan Miller would lead the way, shooting even for the tournament.

St. Thomas would get off to a hot start at the Winstar Casino Golf Course. They would be in contention for the lead for nearly the entire round, in part to junior Patrick Smetek's performance. Smetek would shoot three under to lead all golfers after 18 holes. The Celts would drop to fourth place after day one but would remain within striking distance heading into the final round.

The Celts would cut their team score by eight strokes to jump Dallas and Mary Hardin-Baylor, as nearly every UST golfer would shoot low in round two. Miller would shoot a round best two under (70) to conclude the Crusader invitational, moving up nine spots in the overall standings. Greg Dupont would improve his day one score by five strokes, carding a 72 while finishing 12th overall. Locking in a top 25 finish would be Cade Kiser, finishing eight over par after 36. Senior Bradley McCaleb and junior Henry Phavorachit would rank 60th and 72nd overall, respectively.

Men's Golf will return to action November 15th and 16th at the Firestorm Fall Invite in Phoenix, Arizona.
