Title Defended! Phavorachit and Kiser Power St. Thomas to Second Linda Lowrey Championship

Men's Golf defended their Linda Lowrey Invitational title this Tuesday afternoon. At the end of the competition, the Celts finished first overall and were led by tournament champion Cade Kiser.

In his second tournament win this season, Cade Kiser did nothing but continue to shine on day two. Kiser fired a final round of 73 (+1) on day two for a total of two under par. He had seven pars and four birdies, including one on hole eighteen to secure the victory. Henry Phavorachit continued his stellar tournament locking in second place firing an identical 73 (+1) on day two. Improving his placement by four places, Phavorachit had 11 pars and four birdies, including back-to-back on holes 15 and 16 to highlight his tournament. Cameron Curtis was next for the Celts at 13th place carding a 79 (+7) on day two. Curtis had eight pars and a birdie on two of the last three holes to keep St. Thomas competitive among the best. 

Next was Jonathan Miller at 23rd place. Miller fired a final round of 80 (+18) that included 12 pars and just five bogeys. Patrick Smetek improved his day one placement by four and carded a final round of 80 (+18) to lock in 36th place, powered by three birdies. Lastly, Jackson Murff finished 64th by firing an 89 (+17) in the final round with six pars to add to his score.

With day one and day two scores combined the Celts finished with 596, good for the tournament title and ahead of SCAC rivals: Southwestern, and Texas Lutheran.
