Chloe Bennett Awarded Marjorie Evans Female Student-Athlete of the Year

Chloe Bennett Awarded Marjorie Evans Female Student-Athlete of the Year

In 2006 the University of St. Thomas longtime supporter Marjorie Evans gave the initial gift that launched UST Volleyball and ultimately the University of St. Thomas Athletic Department. Ms. Evans has continued to support the Celts, in particular, our women's athletic programs. It is because of her that we dedicate the female student-athlete of the Year award in her name.

The University of St. Thomas Athletic Department honors female student-athlete every year based on their excellence in competition, in the classroom, and within the UST community.

This year's female student-athlete of the year, Chloe Bennett, is active in UST student activities. She currently holds a 3.6 GPA majoring in nursing. She was also named Academic All-American in her freshman year. In only two years as a Celt, she has already played multiple positions to help her team succeed. Her on-field performances have also garnered her awards as SCAC Hitter of the Week twice, nomination to the all-region team, and a 1st team All-SCAC spot. A force on the diamond, she is currently a batting average of .463 with 4 home runs and a conference-leading 41 RBI. Her performance also earned a spot on the Player of the Year Watch List.
