Women’s Track Starts 2023-24 with Several Records at BSC Icebreaker

On Friday, Women's Track and Field sent a group to Birmingham, Alabama to participate in the BSC Icebreaker. In their first indoor track event of the 2023-24 season, UST runners posted several personal and school record times in a solid performance against a variety of competition from all over.

Ebonee Nation, fresh off a huge season last year, set a school record in the 60m Hurdles with a time of 9.10 to lead a strong event for the Celts. Christina Stinson set a school record of her own in the 400m with a time of 1:00.48. Trinity Provost set a pair of personal best times in the 60m and 200m with times of 8.18 and 26.05, respectively.

Head coach Jarrick Wright showed excitement for both the finishes on Friday and the rest of the season after the event. "Superb performances from our team," Wright said. "We usually do not run until January, and we had 5 personal bests. The 2024 season looks promising."

Women's Track wraps up their light fall with the opener behind them, and they now look forward to the spring semester. They will return from their layoff on January 25-26 at the McNeese Invitational in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Be sure to follow ustcelts.com for future results and updates.
