Sprinters, Distance, and Jumpers All Come Up Huge at Fastrak Indoor Collegiate Challenge

Women's Track and Field continued their indoor season at the Fastrak Indoor Collegiate Challenge. Against Division I and III competition, the sprinters, distance runners, and jumpers all came up huge for St. Thomas setting personal bests and lowering school records. 

In the women's 60m dash Mykler Roderique showcased her speed placing in the top three. At the end of the preliminary race, Roderique logged a time of eight seconds flat, ahead of SCAC rivals Trinity and Texas Lutheran. Ny'Cierra Hinton also competed for St. Thomas and clocked in at 8.26 seconds, securing an 11th-place finish. In the 400m dash, a pair of Celts finished in the top six. Christina Stinson finished fourth place and lowered her season best to 1:01.42, while freshman Makayla Powell ran the event in 1:03.17, good enough for a sixth-place finish. 

In the jumping events, Claudia Davis leaped in the women's long jump. Davis completed the event at 4.59m, securing a top-ten finish. Valeria Gonzalez also competed for the Celts and scored 3.81m.

Finally, in the Women's Distance Medley, the Celts finished third place. Victoria Ramirez, Karelann Skinner, Nelsy Vera and Ashley Martinez ran it in 13:57.02 to round out the Celt's day.
