Women's Track & Field Competes in McNeese Indoor Meet

Women's Track & Field competed in the McNeese State Indoor Meet in Lake Charles, Louisiana this past weekend, having a strong showing in just their second indoor meet in program history.

 

Christina Stinson would lead the way in the 400 Meter Dash, landing in second place overall while recording a 1:02 time. Also representing UST with a strong performance would be Clydajia Williams who ran a 1:04, placing her fifth overall.

 

In the One Mile Run, five Celts would compete, being led by Sophia Sanchez. Sanchez would log an eighth-place finish with a 5:44 performance. Ashley Martinez would post a 5:49 time, locking in a near top-ten finish.

 

Jocelyn Olivarez had a UST-best 10th place performance in the 800 Meter Run. Also running in this event would be Samantha Hernandez and Martina Caridad who would record a 2:41 and a 2:46, respectively.

 

In short-distance, Kaela Edwards would have a fifth-place finish in the 55 Meter Dash, running a 7.67. For the 200 Meter Dash, Ny'Cierra Hinton logged a 13th place decision with her 27.83 time.

 

The Celts will be back in action on February 11th at the Howie Ryan Invitational in Houston, Texas.
