Nation and Provost Blaze Division I Runners at Houston Invitational

Women's track and field shined against Division I competition at the Houston Invitational. By the end of the meet, the Celts set numerous personal records as they continued their indoor season.

Freshman Ebonee Nation continued her strong start to her Celt career in the 60m dash. Nation ran her personal best at 8.18 seconds, good for 56th overall, leaving six Division I runners in the dust.

Joining her was fellow freshman Trinity Provost who ran the 60m and 200m dashes. Provost powered through both events setting personal records in each. In the 60m, she ran it in 8.24 seconds placing 60th overall. Then in the 200m Trinity clocked 27.19 good for 46th overall topping nine Division I runners. In the same event, three Celts placed 42nd-44th. The sophomore duo of Kaela Sawyers and Sophia Delgado tied each other running the event in 27.07. Not far behind was freshman Makayla Powell at 44th running it in 27.08. 

Finally, sophomore Karelann Skinner showcased her speed in the 800m dash placing 29th overall running the team high time of 2:35.24.

Up next, women's track and field continues their season at the fastrak athletix invitational on February 11th.
