Women's Track and Field Leads DIII Schools at SFA's Carl Knight Invitational

Women's Track and Field raced at the SFA Carl Knight Invitational this past Saturday. After a full day of racing, the Celts finished the meet with times competitive against Division I competition. 

Kicking off the day for the Celts was the 100m dash. Ebonee Nation continued her stellar year finishing 18th place and dropping her time to a fast 12.50 and leading all Division III runners. Makayla Powell finished 25th showcasing her speed at 12.94 seconds to wrap up the St. Thomas runners. 

Next was the 200m dash as seven Celts showcased their speed. Trinity Provost finished the event in 26.16 and 27th place. Just a hair behind her was Makayla Powell at 28th with 26.18 as the top two racers for St. Thomas. Coming in at 31st was Kaela Sawyers who finished at 26.46. Then Christina Stinson and Ny'Cierra Hinton finished 35th and 36th place clocking times of 26.92 each. Finally, Nelsy Vera and Samyia Summers also competed for St. Thomas and finished 43rd and 51st respectively. 

Sophia Delgado ran the 100m hurdles and finished in 17.64, the best of any SCAC runner at the meet. 

Lastly in the 800m run, Elizabeth Stepaniak finished 16th place at 2:31.33, and led all Division III runners in the race. Ana Luna and Victoria Ramirez locked in 23rd and 24th place with times of 2:41.78 and 2:42.76 respectively. 

Up next, its the SCAC meet for Track and Field! Follow the Celts as they travel to Georgetown, Texas as they look to claim the top spot in the conference!
