Celts Showcase Speed at Day One of Texas Southern Relays

Women's track and field kicked off the Texas Southern Relays this Friday. The day was highlighted by setting conference bests and qualifying for the final rounds tomorrow.

In the 100m hurdles, Ebonee Nation showcased her speed finishing in fifth and clocking 15.31, good enough to make the finals. Nation's time currently leads all SCAC runners as she finished ahead of many Division One competitions.

As for distance, Senior Sophia Sanchez shined in the 5000m run. Sanchez ran it in 19:18.68 to set a new team best and place herself in top five in the SCAC.

Lastly, in the women's 100m dash, a pair of Celts qualified for the finals. Mykler Roderique and Ny'Cierra Hinton blazed 13 runners finishing in 12.82 and 12.98 respectively. Both of their times qualified them for the finals.

Up next, its day two of the Texas Southern Relays! Follow the Celt's scores as more events take place and final rounds commence tomorrow.
