Softball hosted the Huston Tillotson Rams in a single-day double header this Tuesday afternoon. The Celts showed poise, dominating the Rams in all facets of the game.

Game 1: UST 11 HTU 2 (6 Innings)

The Celts were first to strike as Rebecca Archibald stole home in the bottom of the first inning. From there, Huston Tillotson responded with a two RBI home run in the top half of the second to put St. Thomas down 2-1. However, their lead was only until the fifth inning as the Celts exploded for eight hits. The offense generated eight runs to secure a 9-2 lead heading into the sixth. Then with the Rams unable to score a run, the Celts added two to secure the 11-2 run-rule victory.

Bailey Tisdale got the start for the Celts and shined going the distance and allowing just two hits and two runs. She also notched five strikeouts in the victory.

Game 2: UST 11 HT 1 (5 Innings)

St. Thomas wasted no time putting points on the board. After a six-run first inning, the Celts only added to their lead in the second. Powered by triples from Delayne Moreno and Mallarie Munson St. Thomas made the score 9-0. From there, St. Thomas added two runs of insurance in the fifth inning to secure the 11-1 run rule victory.

Allison Hughes notched her fifth victory in the circle as she pitched all five innings of action. Hughes allowed just four hits and one run while striking out three batters.
