School Records and Personal Bests Power Men's Track and Field At Victor Lopez Day 2

Men's Track and Field wrapped up the Victor Lopez Classic this Saturday afternoon. Against many Division One programs, the Celts shined setting many personal records. 

Kickstarting the scoring was the 100m dash. Victor Davis locked in 25th place showcasing his speed at 11.27, his personal best. Jacolby Mattox finished 35th clocking 11.59, and less than a second off was Carlos Cazares at 41st with 11.87.

In the men's 400m dash, Bryce McIntyre set the pace for St. Thomas running it 48.89, good for 14th place. Not far behind was Eduardo Waller who ran it in 49.22 to finish 18th a personal best. 

Then in the 800m run, the distance runners of Jhancarlos Carpio and Jacob Smith finished within a second of each other. Smith finished in 1:57.79 and Carpio finished in 1:57.86, good for 36th and 37th respectively. James Urbina also competed and finished 41st clocking 2:00.58. 

The success didn't stop there as the quartet of Eduardo Waller, Bryce McIntyre, Kashala Kapyamba, and Jacob Smith ran 3:20.11 in the Men 4x400m relay, a new school record.

Then in the field events, Men's Long Jump was highlighted by Makale Mingo who finished 19th jumping 6.51 to lock in 19th. In high jump, Matthew "Hop" Hicks finished 7th place at 1.92m, ahead of nine Division One jumpers at the meet.
